See What Others Say About John Hello, I’ve put this page on the website after considerable thought. Before you read the quotes that follow, I want to explain the purpose of including them. The purpose is to help you realize we are different from others in our field. To that end, I’ve enclosed these quotes, which I gathered about 6 or 7 years ago in the course of a process of professional self evaluation wherein I asked about 20 people the question, “What do you see as my unique ability?” As most of these people knew me well, the responses, which are typical in this process, reflected more on character than on whatever my unique ability might be. I hope that when you read these comments from those that know me, you will not consider this page too brash, as my goal is to reinforce that integrity is core to any good personal or professional relationship. Thanks for reading. Quote #1 “I personally believe that you can ‘talk the talk’ of your industry at a level with the very best. You have ‘product knowledge’ but it is not what separates you from the pack. …what I value most about you is what I perceive to be a tremendous sense of loyalty to those people and those values which you hold to be worth honoring. Don’t misread me here, I’m not trying to be schmaltzy, but in this era in which we live, I see this trait as among the most valuable in that it is so rapidly disappearing from so many sectors. It is my belief that once you have assigned value to a person or institution that you will do all in your power to support and enhance that which you have come to deem worthy of your loyalty. You cannot imagine, or perhaps you can, how much I respect that perceived aspect of your personality.”
“John, I am having trouble sorting out the question of ‘ability’ v. character trait. How are you unique? After lots of years with you, I keep coming back to your resolve to ‘do the right thing,’ no matter the consequences. That leads me to the root of the strength, and that is a total commitment to principle. I have never known you to compromise principle, take the easy way, cut the corner. This can be a lonely pursuit when one is surrounded by peers willing to do most anything to get ahead. I think the trait is highlighted on the golf course. ‘Putt it’.“
“I’m not sure that you have one unique ability. You do have a unique package. First, you have knowledge and ability in your field. Second, you have a point of view about life and about what helps make it better. Third, you seem to be able to understand other people’s life values. I would say that you understand people extremely well. You are an exceptional judge of character. Fourth, you seem to enjoy so many phases of life intensely. That part of your intensity has an oddly relaxed side. You are serious about driving all aspects of life to the fullest. Finally, you are a genuinely wonderful guy. Combine all these qualities – that is pretty unique.”
“If someone were to ask me about John H. Ward, IV and my impressions of him and his uniqueness, I would respond as follows: John is unique and one of a kind, the most obvious character trait is his integrity. Beyond all else, his integrity is foremost in my mind as his greatest asset. This unique ability sets him apart from others in his field, as well as setting him apart from others in any professional field. This great asset is used in a way which can preserve and keep his character, and allow people to rely on his professionalism. I would say second to that would be your unique sense of humor. I hope this is some assistance to you, John, in your never ending pursuit of total perfection.”
You unique ability to deliver a quality product has several facets. An outgoing personality suited to selling and closing the deal. … excellent communication skills. You buy what you sell … honesty in explaining the products you sell and how they all interconnect between person, family, business and estate. Your knowledge in other areas, i.e., estate planning, law, etc. allow you to communicate, coordinate, and speak intelligently to other professionals to deliver a total package that very few people in this country can reproduce.”
“You unique ability – incredible persistence coupled with the ability to strike up a conversation with anybody! Your gregariousness is an asset in your business.”
“John Ward has his unique ability to care intensely about everything and everyone upon which or whom he focuses his attention. In his business he cares not only about financial success, but also about possessing technical expertise, advancing the image of his profession and providing a service to his clients. In his home life, he cares intensely about his children’s choices, their successes and failures. He is as close to his wife as any husband I have every observed. With his friends, he cares intensely about their health, success and well-being. The intensity of John’s caring sometimes becomes an obstacle to the accomplishment of his goals. It can be misunderstood by those who don’t know him well and who view his concern as invading their privacy or as trying to control their activities. But, on balance, I’ll take John’s caring any time. Everyone who knows John well makes the same choice.”
“You possess many qualities that allow one to be successful. You have an effective style whereby you show people what they can do, you advise them what they should do, you tell them how to do it, and you help them do it. In short, you make it easy for me to do business with you.”
“I would say your unique ability is to recognize that something needs to be done, decide what it is you can do, and then proceed to it with your best effort – including follow-up.”
“Your unique ability, or better said, that character trait that makes you unique is that you hold the highest moral and ethical standards of anyone I know. This trait, in you, is never compromised, never! You live by a standard long lost on our society and it serves you well. You are known by it and you expect nothing less from your children.”
In citing one trait, I would have to say it would be, in a business environment, to see through periphery matters and recognize core issues. In the vernacular, ‘you call ‘em like you see ‘um’.”
“Below are unique abilities of your ‘strong suits,’ which I feel are notable:
“1. Excellent networking, persistence and hearing out recommendations.
“You really believe in your product and care about your client. You are hyper-focused. You are honest. You really understand life insurance.”
“John Ward has a unique ability to win people over and convince them he is concerned about them – cares about them. His sense of humor serves him well in this regard. The concern and caring is real.” Quotes/testimonials may not be representative of the experience or opinions of other clients and do not guarantee future results or experiences. 1700 Eastpoint Parkway
